Air Freight

Airfreight is used mainly for high value, perishable, urgent and fragile goods. Usually, air freight rates are airport to airport and are charged on the basis of either per kilogramme or per 6,000 cubic centimetres, whichever is the most expensive.

It is our experience that the air freight option is often selected on subjective, rather than objective grounds. For instance, urgent orders are frequently shipped to Europe by air, when express road freight is faster and cheaper, simply because it is perceived as being quicker.

How can we help?

We audit air waybills and flight schedules and establish how many agents and airlines are handling your goods; whether your goods are being transhipped and what routings are being used. We can evaluate whether you are taking advantage of special commodity and class rates and whether weight breakpoints are being applied by your freight forwarder.
